Keyword tools of Google to get better:)

DEC 9th Tweet from comments posted Aaron Wall seo tools;

When Google switched to the new keyword tool were many advertisers is ' way went from very granular & focused on an increasingly broad and pretentious. It is by default so you can drill down into a particular sector to suppose that you wanted to buy a broader basket of keywords than you requested, in particular, it makes sense when you think about how quality score push irrelevant ads.

Based on user feedback/complaints may inform the tool offers 3 different filters: more like this to include or exclude keywords, as well as an option, which makes any changes to the tighter if enabled.

If the keyword categorization, locating, trend data, match type options, these new filters, Export CSV & practical arrangements all data they offer is quite great tool with some unique cases for market research. It is so effective that you can perform multiple tasks in a few minutes, but it is so addictive, you can spend hours playing with.:)

Unfortunately, Google recently was a plus in front-Google! ;)

Recently, Google announced a new keyword tool built around an estimate of the size of the different world markets. Regular keyword tool you do this, but this new keyword tool you can compare market sizes (when search demand) side by side an overview and also displays a relevant related local keywords in other languages which are more or less the same meaning. And most people outside of SEO. Yet. Do Not. The download. This.

Never explained keywords for humans, and received blank appears in return?

We have to trawl through a keyword research tool and a list of thousands of niche business opportunities. Demand is on the screen. Sent to us.

When we demand, competition, we quantified the opportunity, building a Web site and dive into flow demand that existed long before the Internet was invented.

Demand, meet delivery.

Look all demand that:

"The Japanese translation of" 450,000 monthly searches "Hospital jobs" 823,000 monthly searches "forklift certification" 27,100 monthly searches "mailing labels monthly searches" 301,000 "digital signage" 201,000 monthly searches "student credit cards" 135,000 monthly searches "coin collection" 60,500 monthly searches

And, as we know, is a single keyword/niche. The real gems can be found at deeper into long tail of associations, permeations and similarities.

Search the channel still surprises me.

It is so strong and so under-rated.

MAD men

You've seen mad men?

If you haven't, it is a big show about an advertising agency, set the conscience 1960 ' s. Ad executives were rockstars time, paid to know what was good for consumers. "

What would you do the keyword research tool, mon?

Or our digital zeitgeist?

And unlike fifty years there are fewer barriers to entry for many traditional markets. In the past, in order to compete with nation wide or internationally, a massive, multinational machine, persons and capital, it was necessary. Now with a credit card, we simply press into a large network in a few minutes.

Fifty years of publishing a book difficult and expensive. A large company that publication could get shelf space in a larger retailer, but they could. Probably still possible. You will need to print multiple copies, a risk and cost out of the reach of most people. A Publisher could close to reviewers, and the work of publicity machines.

Now we can compete.

We can achieve more much more reach in very less time for a fraction of the cost.

So many gaps, so little time.

Google reaches the breakpoint

Jan 1800 Tweet from Aaron Wall 4 comments posted on internet
Google takes on SEOs

Google wants to do some SEOs look like idiots. There are, but some are simply-Kromgoyel days less information. Or, in some cases thrown under the bus by a new wave of editorial policy in the area of gray. Inconsistent enforcement is a big problem, but even if you go further, the truth is, most companies have a number of revenue flows from net, as can be utterly spurious.

Google is Sleazier than Microsoft

We saw recently Matt Cutts play & investigative reporter literally Create a story about how some of the subsidiaries of dirty Bings. Here's the litmus test, however: Microsoft when it became aware of it immediately canned dark distribution partner. Meanwhile, Google means more toolbars, put AdSense ads in them and so far even as Google Finance google.bearshare.com

Such a measure Bias the results of Google

Here is an interesting study, conducted by Benjamin Edelman and Benjamin Lockwood from Harvard Business School. Study measures how search engines, Google in particular Prefer their own Web services.

We believe that each search engine favors their own services for each search engine links with their own services more often than other search engines. But some machinery to promote their own services search significantly more than others ... We find that Google's Algorithmic Search results link to Google's services more than three times as often as other online search engines with Google services. For selected keywords bring biased results search engines interests at the expense of users

People have discussed this topic awhile or watch, some say that search engines can do what they like, others consider these search engines should be brought to justice.

However, the investigation brings up an important point. If Google demands have algorithms, "objective" search results, and then follow that Google should prefer their own businesses, unless those properties achieve a top ranking on the basis of their merit.

Google may not have two ways.

The problem is, of course, that Google could tweak the algorithm to favor regardless of the qualities of his properties screen for example. The Google PageRank of pages could own calculated on actual cryptic and oblique fashion-highest "value". There is no such thing as "objective", when it comes to the syntax, which is the function of a search algorithm. There are only points along a continuous tone subjectivity.

But when it gets interesting is the investigation goes one step further. Trying to understand what would the user when it is searching. You want the user to find a service by Google # 1? And if it is not Google doing the user a dis-service by placing a Google from # 1 property?

In principle, a search engine may operate their own services, because users prefer these links. For example, if users of Google's search algorithms usually click links to other Google services, while Yahoo search users tend to click links in Yahoo algorithms can then any search engine optimization systems coming to facilitate their respective ancillary services. We call this "user preference" held by the above theory "Offset"

They tested the theory that using data click-through. Regarldess of keywords, users Prefer almost always # 1 result-72% of the time. So what if the user clicks further downwards, indicating that the first result is less relevant?

Gmail, the first result, take 29% of users clicks, while Yahoo mail, different outcome, receiving 54%. Throughout the keywords we receives the top-most result usually 5.5 times more clicks as the second result, but here Gmail is only 53% while Yahoo. Nor was the "e-mail" only the expression in which Google sales, its own service. other names such as "Post", show a similar reversal a few days in our data set, even if "email" is the only term where the difference is large and stable throughout the period

There is a huge incentive for search engines, which are increasingly crossing the line under publication, the meat is at their own properties. Traffic is valuable and whatismore, can be channelled away from competitors.

As Aaron pointed out a few months ago, if Google chooses to write a new vertical like travel or locale, you'll see better if you compete in these vertical. No matter how relevant it is to the search term is below the fold is likely to come-.

So, Yes, it may be Google's search engine, but may not be able to submit applications for user focused above all else, otherwise return the results the user wants, as opposed to possibly directing user Google properties. How can you tell me "Democracy Project", if you do not favour regardless of site link chart "votes" more relevant? And this does not reduce somewhat the wrong side of the "evil"?

So, what does?

If you believe that Google may place their own Web sites where they like, then nothing.

I believe that any company can do what it wants, until they reach a point where they become so influential that they can use their mere size to reduce competition and choice. If we believe that free markets requires healthy competition to thrive, so we must be careful about any device that can reduce competition through anti-competitive behaviour.

I am not saying this is what Google, but watch this space. Some agencies invest complaints about violations of antitrust.

The Commission will examine whether Google is abuse of a dominant position on the market in electronic searching reducing allegedly ranking of results before searching competitive services, which specialises in allows users to specific online content, such as comparisons of prices (so-called vertical search services), and depending on the privileged location of the results of its own vertical search services for the closure of competitive services

During the last year or two there have been many changes with Google pushing vertical integration, but in addition to identifying and verticalization, core relevance algorithms (in particular to combat spam) has not changed very recently. There have been a couple of tricky bits but when you consider how much more powerful Google grown, their approach to the core search was not so contradictory, as a few years back (without having to push more self promotion).

There have been some speculation about why Google has shown below and manual intervention, including:

Starts a new SEO firm in 2011?

Jan 25th Tweet by PeterD 22 comments posted on seo tips

A new year brings new resolutions.

Some readers might want to consider this giant leap from your boring job wonderfest, SEO full-time. Huge money! Home party! Hangin ' with Matt Cutts at conferences! What could possibly go wrong?

Let's take a serious look at what's new in your life will look like.

Will be at the expense

SEO is a world of hurt.

When you start, you have some money. Your accounts will not stop coming. Google, rather uncooperatively can rank your sites in six months.

Perhaps more.

You may already have a few sites rank. Got some constant is adsense/affiliate money, there is the right time is for updating Oh-my-God.

An update on Google, as a passionate hurricane, trashes your site unnecessarily. OK, maybe, maybe you

Focus on adding value

Times are tough.

In moments like these clients tend to focus on your value proposition. "We fly on the wall to see if I meet" is a phrase, you can listen to a lot of the recession.

Instead, your customers tend to have their eyes transfixed on your value proposition. "How this use makes me feel better?"

While you may think search engine marketing is essential, using in search engines are usually marketing budgets and marketing budgets tend to be the first things cut companies when things get tight.

So you may need more convincing standard.

If you don't already, it might be a good time to get your proposal and pitch, and now, to specify and add to the value proposition you offer.

Some points to consider. ...

1. to meet the real needs of

Address the need for a client, which may be different from the need to formulate.

This may seem obvious, but often those who are not entirely secure, exactly why should search marketing or you may have the wrong ideas about what the real business needs. can be buried. We need to know this.

Listen To. Hard.

A common mistake people are "fixers"-seos tend to be fixers-can do, is that we pretend to hear, but really just waiting for the opportunity to start to a solution.

A client will say much, and may cover several points you hadn't thought of it, if you allow the talk quite large. Would have liked, you are interested in them and their problems, and possible correct sound more considered and custom.

Why would.

If you can't a real problem solutions, your relationship is most likely to be brief. Services that cannot resolve business issues in the unaltered state are more likely to get cut.

2. extended

Look for ways you can improve your offer.

See solving real problems in closely related fields. A client could, for example, missing a content strategy. You may wish to publish content regularly, but we have not reached it. You could improve your bid by incorporating in your offer, this reasoning that works well in conjunction with your SEO strategy, hence killing two birds with one stone.

This can also be your work in progress, if paschwn right and can involve little more than to hire a copywriter services.

3. introduction of feedback mechanisms

Feedback is important.

Not only gives added insight for the client thinks, it also allows you to show your offer price in action.

He said that it would do X, you can do x and then show them you've x. This helps build trust.

The clients will often produce, if the opportunity, which can give you more ideas about how to "Go out", and how to address the real needs.

4. search for jobs as partnerships

If you have purchased services, you never select a provider can pain. It is time consuming, and there is risk involved. A wrong choice can lead to opportunity cost, and repeat the process again.

No one wants to. People want partnership with their suppliers. Want someone on their side.

When you have landed a client, try to see them as a partner. Of course, is how they want to see if they like you, it is unlikely to go back on the market, except for disastisfied, so try to their business, your business.

Take the approach that you can add your company to build them.

5. each task is an opportunity to build hybrid skills & knowledge

Suppose you have a client of travel.

Learn what you can do about the travel industry. Press information of the client. Research and understanding of the broader industry, not only for the search marketing opportunity within this industry.

From the gold thing, the fact that a consultant is that you will be able to see inside companies of the people. This information is valuable and difficult to achieve by other means, but your getting paid to learn. You'll learn about the real business issues which-who and the language industry.

Then you're most valuable to any other related travel customer as now a travel guy. " You can pitch the convincing, because they speak the language, understand their problems and to have industry history.

Google SEO link analysis

27 Jan Tweet from Aaron Wall 18 comments posted on seo tips

I was never a fan of correlation analysis. Reason for this is how things behave collectively have nothing to do with how we behave with your purchase for your keywords on your website.

Harmful high quality links?

A fairly new site ranked surprisingly quickly on Google.com for an extremely competitive keywords. This was not on the first page, but ranked # 20 with a keyword, which is probably one of the 100 keywords most profitable online (if you could get # 1 rank over a billion dollar corporation). A promotion site, which was particularly well from bloggers and a few more pages of newspapers in the United Kingdom and the first rankings improved everywhere. So then one day, while looking at the rankings using only site ranking checker fell off the map. Was nowhere. Then jumped to Web Analytics and search engine traffic was up. What happened was Google took the site as a site from the United Kingdom, so the enlistments went on page 1 in the UK, while the site disappeared from the global results. Overall, we know that most links are better & links from trusted domains with high always deserve a few. Even the above situation, the website was put behind large chains. Of course, we can determine the geographic market referred to in Google webmaster tools for the United States, but how long will it take Google to answer? How many other local brands will dragging the site from the United Kingdom?

Passage of these tapes will be a net positive for the site, but it is still necessary to develop more of US signals. And these kinds of strange things (such as links to your site actually harm), algorithms to search for other brands to push geotargeting. Things like Twitter mentions, where things are searched for, how to use the language on your site, and maybe even your website audience composition can influence the translation. Worsening in some of these other marks that may reflect hedging instruments. If you have coverage on Guardian many people from the United Kingdom will see, so you may have many Tweets that mention your website from the United Kingdom. In such a way that can self-reinforcing many of the lights even wrong.

Measuring the wrong things

Another area where less correlation analysis is when one side piberækker based on criteria that have been acquired from another. Such bleeding mark means that if you look at things in you often analyse data as irrelevant.

Sampling Bias

Correlation analysis is also a question of sampling bias. People tend to stick with the defaults until you learn enough to change. Most tools CMS created unfortunately with optimal ways. If you look at the top ranked results some optimal set ups will be yperantiproswpeyontai in the category "what works" simply because most websites are somewhat broken. The Internet is a fuzz test.

The opposite of the above is also true: some of the best strategies remain hidden in plain sight just because of the large number of people who have done x bad.

Analyze data pairs instead of the individual signals

Another way marks has blurred, how Google uses page titles in search results. Generally used to be only the title of the page. But recently started mixing

using a page heading instead of page title (when they feel that the page is more relevant) add text Anchor link in the title (in some cases) adds Title page Original page at the end of the sub-pages (when the page titles below is brief)

As Google adds more brands & changing how we build brands makes analyze makes it much more difficult. Only do not need to understand how used brands, but how they interact with pairs or groups. When Google uses H1 heading on a page to display in search results, they are still a lot of emphasis on page title? Changing the weights for H1 as if Google shows this or not?

The analysis is still valuable, but ...

I am not saying that the resolution is a waste of time, but rather that when you make a lot of things to bring and what will be much more practical. The fact is that there are always edge cases to refute each rule. Instead of looking for the General rules necessary in order to balance the as objects:

risk vs. rewardyield vs. effortfocus vs. diversityinvestment vs. opportunity costFirst mover advantage

In the same direction is nowhere near as interesting as the understanding of historical trends and large displacements of any given snapshot of search. If you're one of the first to notice something that is much more profit potential than to come slowly. Each signal easy Google creates, in the end, low-priced market nearly true for (or sometimes more). Whereas, if you're one of the first to mark a change will often called ignorance. : D

Consensus is the opposite of convenience.

When you are analyzing linkage you can get when the market has been adjusted with what confidence Google & desires. Exact match domains were not well across a wide range of keywords until after Google began to focus more people understand this &, but if there is today an important accents & prices are sky high and then knowing that carry some weight may not be a real potential for profits in your purchase. Still may be distracting or a stalemate. Imagine a person who bets (literally) a million dollars in Google will put emphasis on poker.org just to detect the change Google's algorithmic approach & their weighting or make a special exception just for your site (which they can & did). Day will require some Tequila.

As an approach to marketing is becoming increasingly mainstream then not only to increase the cost, but makes the risk of change. As people complain about domain names (or any other mark or technical) makes Google most likely to act brake voltage and/or reduction of the weight & value. To see an extreme Variant that recent years have seen a lot of complaints about content farms. A beautiful phrase:

Search in Google, now, is like asking a question in a market crowded flea hungry, desperate, brilliant sales personnel, who stated that they have the answer to each question.

And so Google promises action. Does Google Look stupid!

History holds the key to success

The only way to predict the future of profitable is understanding of history.

Maybe people take issue with the content of low quality.

The problem with arguments relating to the quality, is that these arguments are subjective. Is the quality of Wikipedia? About the Huffington Post? Wikipedia is full of inaccuracies, and the Huffington Post is not about fixating on trivia, like this-or topic-Charlie Sheen on the weekend. Often these exact same criticism leveled against content farms.

You could argue that these two sources at least try to give a high level of quality, more often than not. However, the quality is in the eye that sees it. How can we not all have a taste, but this is not true to say that it is all value, for all people, all year round. Perhaps some don't Wade through dense universities of Wikipedia. Someone to tell me what is this strange position on the mouth of the cat you want only.

How a farm content describes other holdings content

What is a content farm, anyway? Is a magazine cluster content? Definition of Wikipedia content farm shows the same level of banal fluff found frequently asked about how:

"Articles of content farms are written by people but cannot be written by an expert in the field of" the same could be said of many newspapers, websites and magazines. (E) and? "Content farms are criticized for offers relatively low quality content as they maximise profits by producing only" good enough "instead of the best quality of articles. If the criteria applied for all issuers, most will disappear overnight. Typical content author is a woman with children, which is in contrast to sites expecting voluntary unpaid contributions for the idea ... ... debt ". Seriously, WTF? Economy units total downloads

I will say now, I don't like the fact that Google searches often return fluff content. However, this problem is a direct consequence of the economy of the web site. It is difficult to publish Web content "quality", which allows you to go back to the author, so there should be no surprise that publishers can reduce the cost of production, either to build pay-walls or simply never published in the first place.

You hate content farms?

Criticism related to farms content displayed come from two camps.

A camp consists of professional journalists and publishers. It is not surprising, as content farms undermines publication model. If the reader is not interested in particular standards, it is difficult to charge a premium for them.

Other camp are SEOs, which is strange, since the demand Media seems to be built around a SEO model used. Perhaps, as some people just can't compete.

I guess the important aspect of what SEOs, how Google defines a farm content and what you intend to do about them.

An approach "Algorithms"

When it comes to buy links, Google not only combats with algorithms, but also ran a long campaign of FUD 5-year introduced nofollow as a filter for proprietary, encourage webmasters to rat than any other and engineers hunt for paid links. Even the Google link penalties ranging from subtle and obvious.

Google claims that police content of low quality, trying to judge the Declaration of intent, that should do it algorithmika & scaling will not enough to solve the problem. At the same time is Google prepared to torch manually some websites and destroy the associated companies. Talking about several SEOs and want to find stories carnage-complete decimation.

Content farms operated by the economy. Become profitable (instead of financing) and the problem resolves itself-just as we do Google AdWords with quality scores. Make sure that you can display AdWords where you do not hear and/or a quote geni fraud, but the prices of the market in order to ensure that loss. Hello clicks to $ 100!

How many content farms, Google torch manually to discourage investment in category? 5? Maybe 10? 20 tops? Requires that a new algorithmic approach in a Web page with 10 million sites?

When Google nuked a ton of article banks within a few years back injury was fairly complete and lasted a long time. When Google nuked a ton of Web folders in a few years back injury was fairly complete and lasted a long time. They were in the rock where the day you will see 50 sites lose their toolbar PageRank & see a Swan dive into the circulation. Content farms continues to be a sacred cow, who need an innovated approach "algorithms".

A bad page? PSIMENOS

If you feel a full prohibition would be too much and, then, could even call sites over time if they wanted to discourage them without immediately kill a few bloggers. who knew any better you've burned based on a single blog entry:

Interesting post from Matt Cutts, talks about how Google is now so much better than in 2000.

But it is a misconception that there was no spam to Google back then. Google in 2000 was large compared to the other engines at the time, but Google 2011 is much better than Google. I know, because back in October of 2000, I wrote 40 000
